Sorrelle has always told everyone that she would only go out with a black boy. There are enough
people saying black isn't beautiful and if you went out with someone who wasn't black that was
just showing you agreed with them.
But then Sorrelle meets Arun, the gorgeous Asian boy everyone seems to fancy. Before she knows
it, Sorrelle has agreed to go out with him and finds that she likes him a lot. But everyone
seems to be against them. Soon Sorrell is dealing with warring parents, a furious best friend,
and hostility from just about everyone she meets on the street. As she tries to sort out her own
mixed feelings and swirling emotions, Sorrelle finds herself asking why there is such a gulf
between Black and Asian people
and whether bridges between them can ever be built...
